    Velika Baba is the highest peak on the eastern ridge above the enchanting Lepena Valley in the heart of the Soča Valley. Though it remains a lesser-known gem among the surrounding peaks, it offers an unforgettable experience for hikers seeking tranquility and breathtaking alpine views. From its summit, visitors can admire panoramic vistas of the majestic Krn, the tranquil waters of Krn Lake, and the rugged Julian Alps. A summit registration box awaits at the top, adding a traditional alpine touch. The route is ideal for experienced hikers in search of solitude and pristine nature. Velika Baba is best visited from late spring to early autumn when trails are snow-free and weather is stable. It’s a peaceful escape perfect for nature lovers, photographers, and anyone wanting to soak in the beauty of the highlands.
