Ribiška Hiša
Description
Ribiška hiša in Kal-Koritnica is a developing cultural and educational center dedicated to the rich natural and fishing heritage of the Soča River. Set in a renovated former dairy facility, the lower floor will host a museum focused on the river ecosystem and the famous Soča trout, while the upper floor will serve as a community space for workshops, training, and local gatherings. Designed with sustainability in mind, the center aims to educate visitors and locals about responsible fishing, biodiversity, and traditional rural life. A thematic trail leads from the house to Breka, one of the river’s most scenic pools, forming a 2.5 km circular walking path with interpretive content. Once completed, Ribiška hiša will be a hub for learning, culture, and eco-tourism in the Soča Valley.
