Description
The Koritnica is a crystal-clear alpine river winding through a dramatic valley surrounded by high peaks. Stretching 16 km from its source under Mangart, Kotovo sedlo, and Jalovec, it flows through the wild Loška Koritnica Valley before joining the Soča near Bovec. Along its path, the river carves deep gorges and creates scenic cascades and waterfalls, most impressive during spring snowmelt or after rain. The highlight is Koritnica Gorge, a 70–80 meter deep chasm near Fort Kluže, where a scenic trail runs alongside the river. Below the gorge, Koritnica it’s a prized fishing spot, home to native marble trout and grayling. Whether you’re a nature lover, an angler, or an adventurer, the Koritnica offers a rich, immersive experience in untouched alpine beauty.
