Srnica Cave
Description
Srnica Cave is a fascinating karst cave located near the village of Plužna, just west of Bovec. Nestled in the forested slopes above the Gljun stream, it can be reached by a scenic trail that leads through woods, across a scree slope, and up a short, rope-secured climb. The cave reaches a depth of 65 meters, but without proper equipment and a guide, visitors can only explore the entrance area. Still, the short hike to the cave offers stunning views, peaceful nature, and a touch of adventure—making it a rewarding experience for curious hikers and cave enthusiasts alike. Parking is available near the trailhead just above Plužna, and the walk takes less than 30 minutes from the Gljun spring.
