Project ARC is a community building innitiative focused on empowering local communities, beginning in Bovec. We dare say it is by far the newest, strangest thing you’ll come across during your stay in the Soča Valley!

Our Vision

A scalable business model currently being tested in Bovec, Slovenia, designed to be applicable to other locations. Bovec is the first testing area where a gamification system is being designed to strengthen the local community and economy.

PROJECT LIFE CYCLE

Project ARC is a long-term project structured in several key stages, each leading toward the goal of positively affecting the local community and creating a sustainable model that can be scaled and replicated in other regions.

Stage I: Test Area & Initial Planning

2020 – 2021

The 1st Stage involved selecting Bovec as the test area and identifying the key actions necessary to reach the project’s main goal: Positively impacting the local community. This stage included gathering information, understanding community needs and defining the actions and strategies that would serve as the foundation for Project ARC’s success.

Stage II: Team Formation & Establishment of ARC Bovec

2021 – 2023

In the 2nd Stage, the focus shifted to forming a dedicated team and officially establishing the ARC Bovec center as the central hub. ARC Bovec (Product 01) was created to serve as the organisational backbone, where team members collaborate on project activities, manage the center, and develop initial programs and products.

Stage III: Operational Stability, Product development

2024 – 2025

The current Stage is centered around ensuring the smooth and steady operation of the ARC Bovec Center while developing the necessary products to meet the project’s goals. This includes creating and refining initiatives like Arcane Trails and other community – focused products that will drive positive engagement and growth.

Stage IV: Product Release, Feedback & Metrics

Summer of 2025

In the next Stage, ARC products will be released to the community, with a focus on gathering feedback and input. During this stage, clear metrics and milestones will be set up to emasure the project’s impact, allowing for real-time adjustments and improvements based on community engagement and feedback.

Stage V: Implementation & Expansion

2026

The final stage involves transferring the management and administration of ARC Bovec to younger members of the community, ensuring continuity and long-term sustainability. Once the local ARC is operating independently, the focus will shift to scaling Project ARC to other towns and cities, sharing the model of community-building and empowerment with new locations, all while maintaining the original center as a thriving example of the project’s success.

This life cycle reflects Project ARC’s intention to not only strengthen Bovec but also inspire a broader community-building movement, all grounded in local empowerment and sustainable development.

My parents’ passion for exploring the emerald valley’s landscapes, history, and traditions has always been a source of inspiration for me.
